Fly Catcher Cam!

We will Document The Fly Catchers who Come to Mimbres, NM Every Year to Raise a New Brood.

Every year a pair of Flycatchers come to a nesting place under our front porch of our house in Mimbres, New Mexico to raise two broods of chicks. This year the industrious pair raise 5 chicks each time. They usually show up in Spring and start preparing their nest. They always add new material to what was there last year, so we always try to remove a layer or two before they arrive to give them a fresh start so their nest will not get to close to the porch ceiling.

Spring of 2010 we will document their entire time here in Mimbres with a video camera or two. FlyCatcherCam.com will go live video feed so you can follow the pair of Flycatchers from first arrival, building their nest to egg laying to raising and feeding the youngsters. Then we will try and track the two weeks mom and dad help the youngsters out around the area, feeding and flying around the apricot trees before they leave.
